Israel-Hamas war, one month in: A tale of carnage and destruction

The Israel-Hamas conflict, which began on October 7, has now entered its second month.

The war was triggered by an unprecedented assault by Hamas gunmen from the Gaza Strip, resulting in over 1,400 Israeli casualties and more than 200 hostages.

In response, Israel launched strikes on Gaza, leading to a death toll exceeding 10,000, as reported by the Hamas-run health ministry.

The conflict has caused significant displacement, with approximately 70% of Gaza's 2.3 million population forced to relocate due to continuous bombing and shelling. The humanitarian crisis is escalating, with severe shortages of water, electricity, fuel, food, and essential medical supplies.

Despite international calls for a ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected these appeals until the release of over 200 Israelis held captive by Hamas
