 TMC Leader Mahua Moitra's Troubles Will Increase, ED Files Money Laundering Case

The Enforcement Directorate had recently issued a fresh summons to Mahua Moitra for questioning in the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violation case, which she ignored.


Bengal News: Former MP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra's troubles are going to increase. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case against the TMC leader . The Central Investigation Agency had recently issued a fresh summons to Mahua Moitra for questioning in the Foreign Exchange Management Act ( FEMA ) violation case , which she ignored.

Reference was made to the election campaign

ED had issued summons to Mahua Moitra and Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani for questioning in the case of violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) . While talking to journalists after the election campaign in Kaliaganj of Nadia, Mahua said, 'ED will do its work and I will do my work, which means I have to continue my election campaign.' 49-year-old TMC leader Mahua Moitra had been called for questioning twice by the central agency, but she did not appear citing official work and demanded postponement of the notice.

Mahua contesting elections again from Krishnanagar

Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for 'immoral conduct'. His party has again made him a candidate from Krishnanagar seat of West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Central Investigation Agency (CBI) had also raided the TMC leader's premises last Saturday in connection with allegedly taking money and asking questions. A few days before this, Lokpal had directed CBI to investigate the allegations made Moitra by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. Moitra says that she has not done anything wrong.
