Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. Kangana was travelling to New Delhi days after her Lok Sabha elections win from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency. The CISF woman constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended. An FIR is being registered against the CISF constable at Chandigarh Airport based on a written complaint by CISF officials. A complaint has also been filed by CISF to the local police. And now, Hrithik Roshan, who was once mired in a controversy with the actor-turned-politician, had reacted to it by liking a post that condemning the act.

Independent journalist Faye D’Souza put up a post condemning the act. She wrote, “With reference to the incident of MP Kangana Ranaut being slapped at an airport, violence can never be the answer. Especially not in our country that was born out of Gandhi’s ideals of non- violence. It doesn’t matter how much we disagree with views and statements made by someone, we cannot react with violence and we should not condone it. It is particularly dangerous when security personnel react violently while in uniform. Imagine, over the last ten years, if those of us who questioned power were assaulted at airports by constables who were in agreement with that power.”

The row started when Kangana mentioned “silly exes” in an interview. Although Hrithik Roshan wasn’t named, he sent her a legal notice asking for a retraction. This sparked a public spat, with Kangana and her lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, countering Hrithik’s claims. In 2016, Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut exchanged legal notices, starting a controversy with many twists but no clear resolution. Rumors of their affair began during ‘Krrish 3,’ followed by rumors of their split. Both stayed silent until Kangana’s interview brought the issue to light.

Reports suggested Kangana was initially cast opposite Hrithik in ‘Aashiqui 3,’ but Hrithik allegedly refused to work with her, leading to her removal. In an interview, Kangana mentioned exes doing silly things for attention, but said she’s over it and that chapter is closed. This sparked media and public speculation about whether she was referring to Hrithik.
